We have launched a pay campaign that is intended to influence Dstl to set up a fair and just pay system, that means we need a central pay guidance process that is flexible enough to allow Dstl the REAL freedoms it needs to negotiate a fair pay deal

Scientists at Dstl are paid up to 20% less than colleagues in MOD.

​

Pay deals over the past years has meant real time pay cuts for the scientists to keep the nation safe.

​

It its not sustainable, the nation is at risk.

​

Dstl staff have been involved in many nation saving events, notably NOVICHOK and COVID but they are also at the front line with military colleagues, assisting the Police with forensic science, keeping soldiers alive, handling deadly pathogens,  and building space vehicles. They are the nations defense scientists.

They need to be paid fairly.
